After two editions that have analyzed the ecosystem and mainstreeming of shopping and quality tourism and its impact on the economic and social growth of cities and of the country, the leit motiv for this year will be "Shopping and Quality Tourism in the Future Agenda of Global Cities".
Accordingly, the focus will be on setting a public-private action plan, along with other more practical proposals, that will enable a significant increase in the arrivals of quality and shopping tourism in our country, capable of providing higher profitability than conventional tourism.
The Summit Shopping Tourism & Economy Madrid 2017 will be held at CaixaForum Madrid in October and last for a day and a half with top representatives from the public and private sector. The summit will be a meeting point for the entire community linked to quality and shopping tourism with a common commitment to place Spanish cities among the best destinations in the world.
The Summit is one of the initiatives developed by The Shopping & Quality Tourism Institute that is the think tank that analyzes and promotes quality and shopping tourism in Spain.
With the aim of setting a public-private action plan that will enable a substantial increase in quality and shopping tourism in our country, the 2017 Summit will link all the business and institutional stakeholders that are in some way part of the Ecosystem of this type of tourism, involving various sectors, due to the capillarity of the impact it has economically and socially.
All this, based on the potential of quality and shopping tourism for boosting the Spanish economy, which stems from identifying the players and segments involved in tourism, as identified in the previous two editions of the Summit.
In sum, the Summit will continue to focus on the need to link quality visitors to our city destinations, so that this type of tourism can become the spearhead of sustained economic growth over time.

The Summit Shopping Tourism & Economy Madrid 2017 is the third edition of this international summit aimed at analyzing and discussing the phenomenon of Shopping Tourism that is having an enormous impact worldwide.
